Ceramic tiles have
been used throughout the world for many centuries to provide useful
and colorful accents in the home. In this five day course, participants
will learn a variety of techniques for making and decorating both flat
and raised relief tiles. Red earthenware clay and a vivid palette of
slips (liquid clays) will be used to create several projects, including
a “sampler” of small tiles suitable for use as a trivet
or wall piece, decorative relief tiles, and a project of the participant’s
choosing. The techniques taught in this course can be used in decorating
many other ceramic forms. enrolment limited to 12.
