Paper
Quilling, also known as paper filigree, dates back to the 15th century.Artists
discovered that narrow strips of paper, when rolled, scrolled, fluted,
fringed and assembled on their edge into intricate shapes, could create
beautiful artistic designs. In this workshop, participants will become
acquainted with the history of this ancient art form and learn how to
make basic quills, construct shapes and set up a project design. Pattern-making
and framing considerations will also be discussed. Techniques learned
in class will provide the practical experience needed for quilling projects
in the future.
