The fundamentals of landscape painting-on-site with acrylic paints will be the focus of this five-day workshop. The group will work at a different location in the historical town of Lunenburg each day, including seascape views and the waterside architecture. In-depth demonstrations will cover subjects such as composition, perspective, colour mixing, brush work and portraying daylight. Exercises will provide a range of challenge to choose from so that individuals can work comfortably within their own skill level while expanding their abilities to create on location. Two- or three day workshops within this session are available upon request. Tuition will be adjusted accordingly. Enrolment is limited to 10 students.

Acrylic painter Alexandra Flood has studied fine arts in Toronto, New York City and Florence, Italy. She has exhibited widely in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Ontario in group and solo shows and her paintings are held in permanent collections at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery and the University of New Brunswick, both in Fredericton. She has taught numerous courses in painting, among them: Introduction to Acrylic Painting, Acrylic Painting Techniques and Portrait Painting. Her instruction emphasizes technical tips and "loosening up", so that students can make artwork that is resolved and a personal reflection of their own style.
