In this exciting
workshop, participants will be introduced to the basics of hand-building
to create slab plates, vases, mugs or lidded jars. Plaster moulds, extrusions,
stamps, and roller relief will be used to create beautiful clay objects.
By exploring the nature of clay, students will be encouraged to strike
a balance between design and the medium's natural quality. The instructor
will present several demonstrations as well as expose students to a
variety of examples on display for reference. The first three days will
focus on functional items which will be glazed. The final 2 days will
focus on non-glazed forms. Enrolment for this course is limited to ten
people.
