Lunenburg
Seaside Craft School offers week-long and weekend workshops
in traditional crafts for adults and young people during July and August.
Taught by Nova Scotia's leading artisans, workshops include Tile-making,
Quilting, Rug Hooking, Dyeing for Fiber Artists, Clay Work, Studio and
Plein Air Painting, Floor Cloths, Basketry, and more.
Workshops of five-days length offer experienced craftpersons the opportunity
for stimulation among a group of their peers while exploring new directions
under the leadership of an artisan teacher.
Under the banner of our new "Weekend Sampler" program, two-
or three-day workshops present projects specifically designed to introduce
beginners to the skills and possibilities of a traditional craft or
painting medium.
Week-long youth programs, also new to our program this year, are designed
to provide young people with an opportunity for creative exploration
and experience in a non-competitive, friendly atmosphere.
Classes are held at the historic Newtown School, now used for high school
classes in Home Economics and Industrial Arts. The location offers the
nearby enjoyment of the village and waterfront which have made Lunenburg
one of Atlantic Canada’s most popular destinations.
We invite you to take a moment to browse through our program for next
summer. Some of the most enjoyable experiences in life come from experiencing
something new.
We look forward to meeting you!
Our students say it best...
"This has been a great experience
and I loved every moment. The surroundings are magnificent."
