Basic traditional
pottery techniques from making and decorating to glazing and firing
will be explored through demonstrations and hands-on studio work. Background
historical and general information will be peppered throughout the week.
Projects will involve using white stoneware clay to create planter shapes,
tumblers and small bowls-objects on which to carve and impress natural
found objects from the sea. Finished work will involve one firing to
waterproof the work. Additional projects will be offered as time allows.
Enrolment is limited to 10 students. Please register early to avoid
disappointment.
